The air at Sevilla is saturated with history. Two centuries ago the Eliseev merchant family opened the doors of this building on Birzhevoi Pereulok to be the first to supply Russia with Madeira and Veuve Clicquot, as well as exotic fruits and delicacies from around the world.
Today this building has been restored and serves fine Spanish cuisine. The interior has a passionate nature that features red brick walls, candlelight, and luxurious chandeliers made of Murano glass.
Sevilla’s menu is led by Mediterranean dishes. To satisfy your hunger, try the tapas. If you’re wondering what is tapas, let us help. It’s any of a variety of appetizers that the Spanish enjoy before eating their main dish. In the past, the Spanish had a tradition to cover their glass of Xeres with a piece of bread, which basically was a cap. This word in Spanish is "tapa" and this is where the word for these dishes came from. Sevilla has a variety of cold and hot tapas with vegetables, cheese, and meats.
Some of Sevilla’s top dishes include escargot with cheese and garlic, or baked with herbs; tiger shrimp; and tortilla Espanola with vegetables; and various Spanish cheeses. There are also various meat dishes, soups and pastas. A large wine cabinet stands in the middle of the restaurant, and you are welcome to take a look and choose whatever strikes your fancy. Or feel free to ask our wine expert for assistance.
Sangria is one of the key parts of the menu. This traditional Spanish drink is made from wine, brandy or liqueur, and with fresh fruit. Every restaurant in Spain has its own sangria recipe, and it is always served in a carafe with ice. The Spanish don’t consider it rude if you pick the fruit out of the carafe and eat it. At Sevilla, you can try traditional sangria made from red wine, as well as apple sangria made from white wine.
